VoIP Security Tools

Preventative strategies or devices that are implemented within a business's IT infrastructure in order to optimize the overall performance of its Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) communications services. Monitors network traffic and prevents malicious activities from degrading, impeding or entirely halting VoIP service.

For businesses to take full advantage of their VoIP services, proper security measures must be utilized. While the service alone can provide efficient use of under-utilized network capabilities, traffic acceleration and scalable call capacity while reducing cost expenditures, without proper security these benefits can be lost. Potential threats such as viruses, Denial of Service (DoS) attacks and Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks can starve a VoIP system of the network resources and services it needs to function efficiently. The damaging effects of attacks such as these can include the exposure of business-sensitive information to malicious sources, voice degradation that can render a VoIP security system useless, and a number of other significant negative impacts that can cost a large amount of time and money to remedy. With VoIP security tools installed, organizations can rely on their VoIP systems to work efficiently and provide the safe transmission of voice and video business information to multiple users.
