Radware and Splunk to Cooperate on Business Smart Networks

MAHWAH, N.J. and SAN FRANCISCO, CA February 19, 2008 02:00 PM

Radware (NASDAQ: RDWR), the leading provider of integrated application delivery solutions for business-smart networking, today announced that it will bundle Splunk, with Inflight, Radware’s real-time business event delivery solution. Inflight is delivering real-time events from online transactions to Splunk for fast searching, reporting, alerting, securing and archiving of online user activity. This combination of search and intelligent data extraction provides unprecedented visibility into user and application behavior for Web applications.

On their own, Web logs can not provide the context or user awareness needed for meaningful reporting, compliance, auditing, and analysis. Furthermore, enterprises are often faced with production application server performance problems. By using intelligence derived from the network, Radware’s Inflight platform can extract information with in-session contextual awareness of the user and their activity including username, geographic location, and transactional details either requested by the user or returned from the Web application. Splunk adds best-of-breed search, alert and report capabilities on this rich data for real-time performance management, fraud detection, compliance and business intelligence.

The integration of Inflight with Splunk provides a unique platform for instant visibility into ecommerce applications, enhancing the quality and business relevance of Web application data driven from the intelligence captured from within the network. The joint solution addresses an increasing market demand for visibility into online transactions to enable instant searching, alerting and reporting for operational regulatory compliance, and audit requirements around user activity.

Using Radware’s Inflight platform with Splunk allows customers to index up to 500 MB/day. Radware is also providing out-of-the-box searches, alerts and reports for Inflight event data. Customers can upgrade to an enterprise Splunk license to index more data and gain access to enterprise features, such as distributed search across multiple appliances,. No additional software needs to be installed to complete the upgrade.

“Our partnership with Splunk stems from a pent up customer demand for real-time search, alert, report and audit capabilities for online transactions - a black hole for enterprises requiring Web application data for marketing analytics, customer personalization, and regulatory compliance,” notes Paul Bilden, General Manager, Inflight Group, Radware. “Splunk’s inherent value, flexible use cases, and worldwide viral adoption by business, risk/compliance, security, operations and IT professionals aligns squarely with our business-smart networking strategy to extract real-time online business-event intelligence directly from the network. Partnering with Splunk was easy. We achieved rapid time-to-market with this critical capability for our customers.”

“Splunk’s partnership with Radware, brings a unique, fully integrated out-of-the-box solution to our joint customers,” said Pervaiz Choudhry, Director of Business Development, Splunk. “This is a perfect example of a Splunk Powered partner creating an exciting new kind of application on the Splunk Platform. Together, Radware’s Inflight and Splunk deliver significant value to customers.”

The industry’s only pervasive network-based, event platform, Radware’s Inflight solution delivers real-time business events to applications across the enterprise with the utmost ease, in real-time and with zero impact to applications or users. Inflight is the cornerstone of Radware’s business-smart networking strategy for out-of-path data acquisition, real-time analytics, and session level interaction with Radware’s core application delivery controller (ADC) solutions. The combined Inflight and Splunk solution is available immediately on the Inflight platform. Existing Radware customers can download the Splunk for Radware Application from www.splunk.com.
