Group profiles

Dark Storm Team

The Dark Storm Team is a hacktivist group known for launching cyberattacks against various entities, often citing political motivations. They have claimed responsibility for Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks targeting organizations such as NATO, Israel, and countries supporting Israel. For instance, in early 2024, they threatened cyberattacks on NATO countries, Israel, and their allies, aiming to disrupt services and government websites. In August 2023, the group claimed responsibility for a DDoS attack that took down the website of Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, as part of the #OpFrance campaign. They have also targeted U.S. airports, including Los Angeles International Airport, citing American support for Israel as their motivation.

While the Dark Storm Team presents itself as a pro-Palestinian hacktivist group, some analyses suggest potential affiliations with Russian interests. Their activities often align with Russian geopolitical objectives, and they have been observed collaborating with other pro-Russian hacktivist groups.

The group's operations typically involve DDoS attacks aimed at disrupting services and drawing attention to their political stances. They have also been known to advertise the Krypton Networks DDoS-for-hire service.
