Radware to Discuss Virtualizing the Mobile Network – Panel Discussion during Light Reading’s Big Telecom Event in Chicago

Radware to join technology experts in a discussion on lessons learned from proof-of-concepts and network trials to look ahead to NFV deployment at scale.

Mr. Michael O’Malley, vice president of carrier strategy and business development for Radware will join a panel with several other technology experts who will assess industry progress on virtualized mobile core, focusing on EPC, IMS, and Gi-LAN. Included on the panel is Dr. Prodip Sen, chief technology officer of network functions virtualization for HP and Mr. Christos Kolias, senior research scientist for Orange Silicon Valley. The panel will be moderated by Mr. Gabriel Brown, senior analyst for Heavy Reading.

“There is great value in virtualizing application delivery controllers with NFV in order to replace expensive proprietary hardware with agile virtual solutions,” says Michael O’Malley. “We’ve already seen companies starting Proofs of Concept by deploying NFV in their network on dedicated COTS servers with virtualization, and within the next 24 months those companies plan to virtualize various network functions such as ADC for DNS or Gi-LAN, CPE and firewalls.”
