Radware's solutions have increased online business performance and protected Papa John's from service disruption attacks

Radware (NASDAQ: RDWR), a leading provider of integrated application delivery solutions for business-smart networking, today announced that Papa John's, the world's third largest pizza company, has successfully deployed Radware's AppDirector®, LinkProof®, and DefensePro® solutions – all powered on the Radware's OnDemand Switch® hardware platforms. Since deploying these solutions, Papa John's has experienced a substantial increase in network performance and efficiency throughout its worldwide operations.

With an e-commerce website that has earned $2 billion, and with more than 25 percent of all global sales resulting from online or mobile device transactions, Papa John's needed to advance its technological capabilities in order to support its vast application and network infrastructures. The company needed to support growing network demand, to boost response times and increase capacity to handle large amounts of online traffic with concurrent users. In addition, it was essential that Papa John's find a way to not only prevent service disruptions and offer its customers a safe, hassle-free web experience, but to also provide employees with uninterrupted access to its multi-dimensional intranet portal.

To solve these challenges, Papa John's elicited the help of Radware and deployed several of its application delivery and network security products, including AppDirector, LinkProof, and DefensePro, across multiple sites. The combination of these comprehensive solutions immediately resulted in superior network performance across Papa John's global network and substantially reduced concerns of potential downtime due to security attacks.

"Not only are Radware's solutions the most cost-effective, but the performance has been outstanding," said Jeff Stringer, Senior Director of Network Services, Papa John's. "From the excellent level of service support we receive to their product knowledge and implementation expertise, Radware has exceeded our expectations and we absolutely plan to deploy more solutions in the future."

Papa John's has leveraged Radware's suite of products to manage and strengthen a number of critical network areas, including:

  • AppDirector– This intelligent application delivery controller (ADC) provides Papa John's with non-stop application availability and optimized server performance via a set of application acceleration functions including SSL offloading, web compression, static and dynamic content caching, TCP optimization and bandwidth utilization control for fast application and transaction response times. Powered by Radware's OnDemand Switch platform, which provides a "pay-as-you-grow" cost model for short-term and long-term savings, AppDirector is the only ADC that offers a multi-layered security approach to protect networks from emerging network attacks and application vulnerability exploitation.

  • LinkProof – Leveraging Radware's advanced Multi-WAN load balancer designed to bypass ISP outages and other network issues, Papa John's can now seamlessly manage multiple ISP links in order to quickly react and avoid potential network issues during peak and non-peak hours of traffic. LinkProof also provides Papa John's with significant disaster recovery protection in the event of an outage, as well as the ability to circumvent failed connections without causing system impact.

  • DefensePro – To fully protect Papa John's network from known and emerging security threats, the company deployed DefensePro, a complete security solution that offers an Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), Network Behavioral Analysis (NBA), Denial-of-Service (DoS) Protection and Reputation Engine. From zero-minute attacks to DoS/DDoS attacks to application misuse, the solution uses behavioral based real-time signature technology to detect and mitigate attacks without the need for human intervention and without blocking legitimate user traffic.

"Radware's partnership is rooted in maintaining the integrity of Papa John's business goals during every-day operations and extreme peak periods such as sports events like the Super Bowl in their case," said E J. Easton, Vice President East Region Sales, Radware. "Understanding our customers' needs - and then delivering solutions that improve infrastructure performance and reliability while maintaining secure, trouble-free environments that can facilitate these needs - is essential. It's a primary reason why companies like Papa John's will continue to rely on the strength of their relationship with Radware."

AppDirector, LinkProof, and DefensePro are part of the Radware's Business-Smart Data Center strategy, which is based on an approach to offer a range of innovative capabilities inclusive of pay-as-you-grow procurement models and a series of compelling 'on demand' platforms.
