February 7, 2013 01:00 PM

Radware (NASDAQ: RDWR), a provider of application delivery and security solutions, on Thursday announced that it has acquired Strangeloop Networks, a provider of Web performance acceleration solutions.

Founded in 2006, Strangeloop's technology accelerates web applications for companies through "site acceleration treatments" that simplify and streamline web pages in real-time and enhance a site visitor's experience.

"By accelerating the web application response time of an enterprise, Radware can enhance their business performance as well as employee productivity," said Ilan Kinreich, chief operating officer, Radware. "This is an invaluable capability as we've seen an aggressive adoption of SaaS, mobile and cloud technologies where user response time is critical for business continuity."

"Strangeloop's technology is providing critical web performance optimization solutions," Joshua Bixby, president of Strangeloop Networks explained. Combining our offerings with Radware, a recognized market leader in application delivery solutions, will enable our clients to outpace their competitors on speed, reliability and overall performance."

Strangeloop's products will continue to be sold and will now be offered under the Radware FastView brand name, the company said. The solutions include multiple models including a physical appliance, virtual appliance, or as a cloud-based service. Raware said that it plans integrate Strangeloop technology into Radware's Alteon application delivery controller (ADC).

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Radware, best known for its application delivery and DDoS mitigation solutions, released its most recent financial results in late January which showed revenues of $189.2 million in 2012, an increase of 13% over 2011 revenues which totaled $167.0 million.
