Radware (Nasdaq; RDWR), a leading provider of Intelligent Traffic Management (ITM) solutions that bring certainty to dynamic networks, ensuring optimal, continuous, personalized and secure service, today announced the release of version 7.10 of the company's award-winning Web Server Director (WSD) product. Features in this release include SynApps™ Architecture, Global Layer 7 load balancing, Encrypted Management, and Virtual LAN tagging support.
"With the inclusion of SynApps Architecture in this version of the WSD, Radware is expanding the feature set foundation of traffic management to go beyond redirection and health monitoring. Version 7.10 broadens the strength of our traffic management offering by adding bandwidth management and application security," said Sharon Trachtman, VP of marketing for Radware. "In addition, the Global Layer 7 load balancing feature demonstrates Radware's technological leadership by taking the global solution one step further than our competitors, with intelligent content recognition capabilities."
SynApps Architecture
Radware's SynApps Architecture redefines the role of traffic management by providing optimal, personalized, continuous and secure service that eliminates network uncertainty. Radware's SynApps Architecture is the only solution that combines application health monitoring, traffic redirection, bandwidth management, and application security in a powerful, ASIC-based switch platform. Combined, these four elements optimize the user experience from click to content by managing traffic according to application needs.
Global Layer 7 Traffic Management
Unlike competitive solutions working only on the DNS level, the WSD Version 7.10 makes global redirection decisions based on Layer 7 information within the URL. This allows customers to keep different content in several data centers, optimizing network resources beyond any load balancing technology to date. The clients are directed to the prime data center that holds the content requested, providing the client with the fastest response time. In addition to basing intelligent traffic redirection decisions on load and proximity, the WSD now takes into account the actual content available at each location.
Encrypted Management
Encrypted management of the WSD assures secure communication between the device and the administrator. Version 7.10 enables full encrypted management to the device, preventing hackers and/or people sniffing the network from reading the management and configuration messages traveling between the device and its configuration tool. All communication between Configware, the Radware management tool, and the device is completely secured, authenticated and encrypted.
VLAN Tagging (802.1q) Support
By incorporating VLAN tagging support, the WSD can add additional servers on the same port, but sub-divide them on a VLAN. This allows the use of fewer ports and eases the set up of servers on a separate virtual network segment where the WSD can still re-direct incoming requests to the appropriate VLAN and server.
