Radware co-founder Roy Zisapel has served as President and Chief Executive Officer since the company's inception in April 1997. He is responsible for the overall direction and strategy of the company.
Under Mr. Zisapel’s leadership, Radware (NASDAQ: RDWR) has grown from a startup to a global, publicly traded industry leader with more than 35 offices and 1,100 employees worldwide. He was instrumental in raising over $200 million for Radware, which included two public offerings in the NASDAQ, an IPO in September 1999 — just two and a half years from company inception — and a follow-on offering in January 2000.
In 2002, based on Mr. Zisapel’s foresight into the growing need for attack mitigation, Radware expanded its product offerings beyond its core application delivery business to include cyberattack mitigation solutions. Radware is now a leader of cybersecurity and application delivery solutions for physical, cloud and software-defined data centers with industry recognition from leading analysts including Gartner, Forrester, IDC, and Frost & Sullivan.
Mr. Zisapel’s leadership has resulted in strong growth for Radware. In 2019, Radware generated revenues of $252.1 million. In the previous 5 years, 2015 to 2019, Radware generated the approximate cumulative amounts of $ 116.8 million in Non-GAAP Net Income and $211.2 million in operating cash flow.
This growth has paralleled working with some of the most prominent brands in the world, including 12 of the top 20 commercial banks, eight of the top 12 stock exchanges, six of the top 20 retailers, six of the top 10 telecom companies and 10 of the top 12 mobile operators. Radware maintains strategic partnerships with Cisco, Checkpoint, IBM, Microsoft, Nokia, SAP and VMWare, among others.
Lastly, Mr. Zisapel has led Radware through several successful acquisitions, including V-Secure Technologies (2005), Covelight Systems (2007), Nortel’s application delivery business, Alteon (2009), and Strangeloop Networks in 2013. Most recently, he oversaw the acquisition of Seculert (2017) and ShieldSquare (2019).
Before founding Radware, Mr. Zisapel directed research and development projects for RND Networks Ltd., pioneering the company's award-winning IP load balancing product line and led algorithmic research for Madge Networks' LAN ATM switch. Mr. Zisapel began his career as a software engineer at Algotech Systems, a medical imaging solutions company.
Mr. Zisapel was drafted to the Israel Defense Forces in 1989 where he served within the Intelligence corps until 1994. Mr. Zisapel graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. degree in mathematics and computer science from Tel Aviv University, where he was honored with the International Wolf Prize for research students. Additionally, Mr. Zisapel holds several U.S. patents and patent applications in the areas of global load balancing, network proximity, traffic redirection and multi-homing.
