The Open Compute Project launched the Telecom Infra Project, aiming to infuse telecom-equipment design with the OCP concepts of openness and disaggregation. Project members mentioned in the introductory blog post areFacebook, Intel, and Nokia, and carriers Deutsche Telekom, EE, and SK Telecom.

Etihad Etisalat (Mobily), a mobile and data service provider in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia signed a 5-year agreement for Cisco to provide cloud and managed services systems.
