Radware introduces new image compression and acceleration solution includes industry-first optimization for sites running JavaScript

Radware® (NASDAQ: RDWR), a leading provider of cyber security and application delivery solutions ensuring optimal service level for applications in virtual, cloud and software defined data centers, today released the newest version of its powerful automated web performance optimization and acceleration solution, FastView® 6.

Slow page load times have a measurable negative impact on enterprises running mission critical web applications as well as online businesses that run consumer-facing web apps. For eCommerce sites, a one second delay in page load time can result in a 7% loss in conversions, 11% fewer page views and 16% decrease in customer satisfaction.

Additionally, the growing number of businesses transitioning to web-based applications underscores the need for a reliable and easy-to-use acceleration and optimization solution - to consistently deliver a faster and more fluid user experience.

Radware’s latest web performance optimization and acceleration solution includes PerfectImage, proven by research to be the preferred image compression method for both higher user satisfaction and faster web page delivery. According to the May 2014 Forrester Research report entitled “Optimize Your Responsive Website Performance To Overcome Mobile Hurdles,” reducing the image weight with resizing and variable compression techniques — as appropriate to screen size and resolution — significantly reduces time-to-first-render and time-to-first-interaction.

“As we see web browsing behavior continue to spike across multiple devices, browsers and connection speeds, a fast and consistent delivery experience is more important now than ever” says Kent Alstad, vice president of acceleration, Radware. “Designed to be fast and easy to implement, the click of one button allows an image to be compressed with up to an 80% image payload reduction despite the browser the end user has chosen, and virtually no difference in image quality.”

In addition to PerfectImage, FastView 6 also offers deeper web application acceleration, covering more resources inside each web application page. It is the first to optimize resources embedded in and rendered by JavaScript as these resources are not included directly by the web servers and are normally not optimized. FastView 6 now optimizes these tough to find files to make JavaScript oriented applications render even faster.

The technology applies advanced acceleration techniques to dynamically discover client side application calls, allowing enterprises to overcome the challenge of optimizing web pages that are built on a growing number of resources within scripts running on a client’s browser instead of being native to the server side application code.
