Radware’s Responsible AI Notice

This Responsible AI Notice describes how we use AI and details our principles for responsible, transparent, and secure AI deployment.

At Radware, we integrate artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies into our cybersecurity and application delivery solutions to deliver advanced threat detection, automated security responses, and operational insights. This Responsible AI Notice describes how we use AI and details our principles for responsible, transparent, and secure AI deployment.

How Radware Uses AI

Radware uses AI and machine learning across our product portfolio for the following purposes:

  • Threat Detection: AI analyzes traffic and behavior to identify and respond to cyber threats like DDoS, bots, and API abuse.
  • Anomaly Detection: Machine learning spots unusual activity that may signal security or operational issues.
  • Automated Security: AI streamlines incident analysis, policy creation, and response for security teams.
  • API Discovery: AI automatically finds, documents, and protects APIs and applications.
  • User Support: Generative AI improves search and assistance in documentation and support tools.

AI Technologies We Use

  • Proprietary Models: Radware develops and trains proprietary machine learning models in-house using cybersecurity data and threat intelligence.
  • Third-Party AI Services: We integrate third-party generative AI models (such as OpenAI GPT) to enhance certain features, including security assistance and documentation search.

Radware’s Responsible AI principles

Radware's AI development and deployment are guided by the following principles:

A. Transparency

We make information available to customers through our website, marketing materials, and publications regarding AI usage in our products and provide visibility into AI-driven products and alerts, enabling customers to understand AI outputs.

B. Compliance, Privacy and Security

  • Compliance: Radware strives for compliance with emerging AI regulations. We continuously assess our AI systems for regulatory obligations and update our practices and documentation accordingly. As explained in our Privacy Policy, we respect customer data rights and comply with applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR.
  • Privacy
    • Data Isolation and Product Improvement Opt-out: Radware’s AI models can learn from customer-specific data to improve detection accuracy and reduce false positives. Customers may opt out of per-customer learning at any time without affecting service availability. Customer data used for such learning is isolated and not shared across customers or used to train models for others.
    • Data Minimization: Radware processes only the data necessary to deliver AI-powered security services, such as traffic metadata, behavioral patterns, and security event logs. We do not access the content of customer application payloads unless explicitly required for a specific security function.
    • Data Retention: AI-related data is retained in accordance with our Data Processing Agreement and customer’s requirements.
    • Third-Party AI Providers: Where we use third-party generative AI services, customer data is processed in accordance with our agreements with those providers and applicable data protection requirements. Customers may request details on third-party AI providers and data handling practices.
  • Security: All AI systems and infrastructure are protected by industry-standard cybersecurity measures, including encryption, access controls, and continuous monitoring. We protect AI systems and customer data against unauthorized access and adversarial attacks.

C. Accountability & Controls

  • Internal Governance: We have internal policies to ensure safe and responsible development and deployment of our AI systems. This includes clear roles and responsibilities for managing AI risks and ensuring our technology aligns with our responsible AI principles.
  • AI Management System Certification: Radware has achieved ISO 42001 certification, the international standard for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems. This certification validates our commitment to responsible AI governance, systematic risk management, and adherence to internationally recognized best practices for AI development and deployment.
  • Customer Control: We strive to maintain customer control by providing clear options, transparent information, and responsive support throughout the customer journey, enabling customers to make informed decisions and manage their preferences at all times. In line with these principles, some of our services enable our customers to accept or reject AI recommendations, control whether the service will report and block attacks or only report them, override AI recommendations, and provide feedback to improve accuracy. Customers may also control when and how AI features are activated.
  • Human Oversight: As a direct consequence of the customer-controlled configuration options described above, our products are designed to support human judgment while allowing customers, at their discretion, to enable certain automated system actions. By default, the system provides insights and recommendations intended to inform human decision-making. However, where a customer elects to activate automated decision-making features, the system may take specific actions autonomously in accordance with the customer’s chosen configuration. Importantly, customers retain full discretion to modify or disable these automated options at any time, thereby ensuring continuous human oversight and control.
