DDoS Attack Prevention

Effective DDoS attack prevention is a proactive strategy implemented by websites to identify and block Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack traffic prior to it consuming the server's resources, including applications and bandwidth.

Successful DDoS prevention solutions are able to differentiate between traffic that is coming from real users and requests that stem from a botnet as part of an orchestrated DDoS attack. Botnets are computers hijacked by hackers through malware, and can be used (without knowledge of the computer owner) to make repeated requests to a site as part of an attack.

For example, Radware's DefensePro is able to identify traffic patterns in order to decipher what is coming from natural site traffic and what is concurrent with attack patterns, and deny attack requests accordingly. This solution ensures site's do not suffer from costly revenue stoppages and repair costs.
