Radware and NSI Software Team Up to Provide 24X7 Web Server Uptime

MAHWAH and HOBOKEN, NJ March 13, 2000 02:00 PM

Radware (Nasdaq: RDWR), a leading provider of Internet Traffic Management (ITM) solutions enabling continuous access to Web sites, IP applications, and content, announced today that its Web Server Director (WSD) family of hardware based products work in tandem with NSI® Software's award-winning data replication software, Double-Take™.

Collectively the two products provide intelligent local and global load balancing with the added benefit of real time or scheduled content replication. Radware's WSD/Pro+/DS/NP dynamically load balance all IP traffic, providing customers with scalability, optimization of resources and local and/or global failover. NSI's Double-Take replicates and synchronizes data among servers in real time, ensuring that data across all redundant servers is identical.

"We demanded scalability and fault tolerance when we merged our two e-commerce megasites," said Barry Hills, CTO for Egghead.com. "Using Radware's WSD we're able to drop in additional servers and applications on the fly. Double-Take will give us the ability to be fully fault tolerant and host data at remote sites. Our customers get great performance and 24X7 access at our site with this great combination of hardware and software."

"Radware's ITM devices allow servers to be transparently added or removed from virtual server farms," said Doron Meirom, president and CEO of Radware Inc. "This allows network administrators to dynamically scale their sites to meet user demands. Users are unaware of changes in the sites physical resources because network modifications are masked by the load balancing front end." Double-Take makes sure the data on the backup servers is identical to the source servers. Both Double-Take and Radware support a one-to-many configuration. By designating multiple target servers for backup IP and data duty, failure or over burdening of the source server allows multiple backup servers to handle all network traffic.

In addition, Radware customers can use Double-Take to replicate servers over WAN links, providing real-time data synchronization over vast geographical areas, further protecting against local disasters such as power failures or physical damage to a facility. WSD can re-route and balance all IP traffic to surviving, dispersed servers.

"There's no room for server down time on the 'net," said Don Beeler, CEO of NSI Software. "NSI and Radware keep networks running 24X7."
