Under its terms, ABC will sell Radware's Web Server Director (WSD), Cache Server Director (CSD), and FireProof in the UK, the largest Internet market in Europe.
The award-winning Web Server Director (WSD) family of products, which includes the WSD-PRO, WSD-DS, and WSD-NP, provides sophisticated local/global load balancing and fault tolerance for server farms by optimising traffic across the server clusters and by disregarding servers that are not operationally available.
Bi-directional distributing of traffic across firewalls
FireProof by Radware is an IP load balancing switch-based appliance that intelligently distributes traffic among as many as 100 firewalls. A single FireProof is capable of handling simultaneously inbound and outbound, transparent or non-transparent traffic.
In addition, Fireproof performs real-time monitoring on the managed firewall and routes traffic to the appliance that has the highest availability. Based on user defined intervals, the application health on each firewall is periodically monitored to ensure that traffic is routed to the best possible resource. Firewalls can be transparently added or removed from the farm to meet user demands.
Optimises resource utilisation
The Cache Server Director (CSD) is an IP load balancing switch designed for use in environments that deploy multiple cache servers. The CSD sits logically between user groups and the Internet. It intercepts user requests and redirects them to the most available Cache server. It optimises cache resources by intelligent load balancing between servers, detecting server failure and eliminating duplication of content.
