CHIP Xonio Online Deploys New IT Infrastructure with Radware's Intelligent Application Switches

FRANKFURT, GERMANY June 22, 2004 02:00 PM

Radware (Nasdaq: RDWR) the leading provider of Intelligent Application Switching (IAS) solutions, ensuring the availability, performance and security of networked applications across the enterprise, announced today that it has supplied CHIP Xonio Online (CXO) with a complete application switching solution for its new IT infrastructure. CXO is Germany's leading portal for all aspects of consumer electronics. With a decision to bring its IT architecture in-house, CXO deployed new technologies for its Special Interest Online Services to the IT segment, and subsequently expanded its position as market leader with the site receiving over 110 million page impressions per month.

"Radware's Application Switches play a pivotal role in our IT architecture," says Helmut Scholpp, Head of Production and Development at CXO. "Only Radware technology enables us to deliver the high quality of our content to our users at high speed."

CXO implemented Radware's WSD Application Switch III platform coupled with SynApps Application Aware Application Security modules. This combined solution ensures the full availability, optimized operation and complete security of CXO's server farms.

The number of monthly hits to CXO's popular Special Interest offer currently stands at more than 110 million page impressions. (IVW ratings for the CXO network available at www.ivw.de). Due to unique caching and compression methods, CXO delivers fastest user content despite high traffic loads and large volumes of data. CXO users generate a great deal of traffic with website download requests. The CXO infrastructure distributes 15 to 20 terabytes per month, the equivalent of approximately 90 to 95% of all its traffic.

"We want to ensure our users continue to enjoy lightning-fast page build so that we can maintain and expand our premier position. We can only accomplish that with the Radware Application Switches which also handle daily peaks at midday and towards the evening, while delivering reliable, top performance," said Scholpp.

"Our Intelligent Application Switching technology guarantees the reliability and highest performance of CXO's mission critical applications across their networks and at distributed computer centers," said Torsten C. Scheuermann, Regional Director Central Europe at Radware. "Eliminating bottlenecks, failures and downtime from CXO's servers, Radware continuously protects resources from security violations for the fault tolerant operation of their IP applications."
