McCleary has been elected non-executive Chairman of the Board . Currently a general partner at Blue Chip Venture Company, McCleary has served as a director since 2000.

McCleary's career and recent professional accomplishments reflect his commitment to technology innovation, entrepreneurship and business growth. Prior to joining Blue Chip Venture Company, he founded and served as CEO of Evergreen Assurance, Inc. which developed an award winning, advanced network based real-time replication and recovery service for mission critical applications. The Evergreen service dramatically improved the ability for enterprises to maintain critical business operations.
Before Evergreen, McCleary founded the first application service provider, USinternetworking, Inc and is widely credited as the visionary that created the disruptive Software as a Service business model. USi conceived, engineered and built a global application infrastructure and delivered the functionality of enterprise software as an advanced network enabled business service that served as the first model for the new industry.
Before launching USi, McCleary was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DIGEX, Incorporated. DIGEX was the first provider of complex web site management and ecommerce managed services. DIGEX was acquired by MCI and is now a core component of Verizon Business. Earlier in his career, McCleary served as Vice President and General Manager for Satellite Telephone Service at American Mobile Satellite Corporation, a satellite communications company.
