Radware's 2005 Year End Survey of InfoSecurity and Interop Attendees Reveals Need for Faster, More Secure Business Applications

Radware (NASDAQ: RDWR), the leading provider of intelligent integrated solutions for ensuring the fast, reliable and secure delivery of networked and Web-enabled applications over IP, announced today the results of a survey of InfoSecurity and Interop attendees. The survey of network and security managers confirms that the performance and security of mission-critical business applications will remain a top priority for enterprise and carriers in 2006.

Nearly half of the respondents said that inefficient use of network resources such as servers, firewalls and virtual private networks prevents them from realizing true application delivery. And despite the dollars spent, more than one third of those surveyed said they are not confident that their current investment in network resources is sufficient to keep critical applications performing optimally and thus sustaining corporate business objectives.

The research was commissioned by Radware and was carried out at InfoSecurity and Interop using a Web-based survey interface to ensure the accurate compiling of reponse data. Other notable findings from the survey include:

  • Server overload is the single greatest obstacle to ensuring optimal application delivery now, and most expect it will continue to be so in 2006
  • Because most network manager attendees (42%) maintain networks with regional/remote offices, the demands on the applications are exacerbated and, thus, performance issues are increased
  • Only 10% of respondents felt that Denial of Service volume traffic attacks were more likely than application level security exploits to bring down their critical applications

Dr. Michelle Blank, CMO of Radware, said, "It is clear from the survey results that enterprises are facing significant application delivery challenges. The results of this survey reinforce that the performance, reliability and security of mission-critical, Web-enabled applications continues to be a top challenge for enterprises and carriers alike. We expect to see increasing demand in 2006 from organizations of all sizes for our highly scaleable, integrated application delivery appliances."

In October of 2005 Radware unveiled the company's next generation APSolute product family, the only application delivery solution based on a cohesive architecture that was designed from the ground up to allow for application-smart tuning of network behavior at every critical point end-to-end, and supports integrated health monitoring, traffic redirection, load balancing, traffic shaping, bandwidth management, intrusion prevention and denial of service capabilities. The APSolute product family is built around the company's innovative new APSolute OS software platform that runs on Radware's family of intelligent ASIC application switches.
