Radware and NetGuard Increase Network Security in Small- and Medium-sized Business Solution

MAHWAH, NJ March 6, 2000 02:00 PM

Radware (Nasdaq: RDWR), a leading provider of Internet Traffic Management (ITM) solutions enabling continuous access to Web sites, IP applications and content, and NetGuard, a leading provider of enterprise-class network security and privacy solutions, are teaming to enhance the levels of high availability and security in enterprise network security systems. The companies announced today that they will coordinate sales and marketing of security solutions comprised of NetGuard's GuardianPRO, an award-winning NT firewall and Radware's FireProof, an intelligent, redundant high availability ITM solution for effective and reliable management of traffic within multiple firewall systems.

NetGuard produces a suite of products for conducting secure communications and commerce over the Internet. Based on a unique MAC Layer Stateful inspection technology, GuardianPro combines a fully integrated security suite including IPSec VPN, Bandwidth Management, NAT, and Authentication. GuardianPro secures enterprise-wide connections with Real-time Performance Monitoring (RPM) to detect suspicious events and identify improper Internet usage by employees. In addition, GuardianPro secures remote user access by supporting widely used authentication systems such as SecurID tokens and RADIUS servers.

FireProof is a hardware-based ITM solution that provides high availability, fault tolerance, and optimization of resources and scalability for up to 100 firewalls. Added security is obtained with the use of multiple FireProofs, creating redundancy and the ability to transparently add or remove firewalls to meet user demands. Radware was the first vendor to load balance firewalls and currently dominates the market with its FireProof product. Radware continues to increase its market share by developing strong relationships with reputable vendors such as NetGuard.

Recognizing the need for high availability and redundancy as well as maximum security, NetGuard and Radware will be offering FireProof to enhance the security capabilities for GuardianPRO customers. The combination of FireProof with GuardianPRO creates a virtually impenetrable system defense.

"NetGuard consistently addresses the expanding needs of businesses with the unsurpassed security of its firewall," said Steve Orenberg, president of NetGuard, Inc. "Radware's FireProof provides GuardianPro with the complementary features necessary to meet the high-level security requirements of our customers."

"More and more customers are building security (firewall) arrays," said Mike Long, VP of marketing and technology at Radware Inc. "The combination of the GuardianPRO firewall and FireProof will allow customers to dynamically and transparently scale their security solutions to meet market needs."
