Radware Announces Product Validation Testing with IBM Netfinity 4000R Product Line

Mahwah, NJ October 25, 1999 02:00 PM

Radware (Nasdaq: RDWR), a leading provider of Internet traffic management solutions enabling continuous access to Web sites, today is pleased to announce the completion of validation testing with IBM's Netfinity 4000R Ultra-Thin Server product line. The Netfinity line was designed to meet the needs of the rapidly growing Internet service provider market. The Netfinity 4000R measures 1 ¾" (1U) thick and offers up to two Intel 500MHz processors per unit. Up to 84 processors can be deployed per industry standard rack.

Radware's award winning Web Server Director (WSD), an Internet traffic management solution, also measures 1U making integration into the IBM stack seamless. It intelligently load balances traffic between a stack of Netfinity servers based upon multiple user definable parameters. The WSD provides scalability, optimization of resources and local and/or global failover. Each WSD supports up to 2000 virtual addresses, as well as 50,000 physical servers. By deploying WSDs with the racks of Netfinity servers, users can distribute all IP traffic locally or globally using algorithms that combine site load, round trip latency and hop count. DNS agents built into the WSD also provide for immediate site fail over in the event of physical disasters.

Deployed together the Netfinity 4000R and the WSD allow users to scale their IP services dynamically to meet any user demand. The product set combines an extremely robust, scaleable server solution, with a robust and flexible load balancing solution. The WSD is already installed in major ISP sites worldwide.

"ServerProven validation helps minimize integration risks, and ensures smooth and reliable operation, letting customers focus on running their business," said Sandy Carter, director of PartnerWorld for Developers, IBM Netfinity. "By validating it's Web Server Director product for use with IBM's Netfinity servers, Radware and IBM can offer their joint customers a computing solution that will run together flawlessly, and meet the needs of the ISP and ASP markets"

"Radware is pleased to be working with IBM to provide a new level of high availability, scalability and fault tolerance to the ISP community," said Doron Meirom, president of Radware Inc. "The Netfinity's power and size are sure to make it an instant success within the ISP market."
