Radware Chosen to Provide Integral Technology Solution for Victoria's Secret Fashion Show Webcast

Mahwah, NJ April 17, 2000 02:00 PM

Radware (NASDAQ: RDWR), a leading provider of Internet Traffic Management (ITM) solutions enabling continuous access to Web sites, IP applications and content, today announces Victoria's Secret, a division of Intimate Brands Inc. (NYSE: IBI), will employ Radware products and services throughout the planning and execution of its much anticipated Victoria's Secret 2000 fashion show Webcast in Cannes, France.

"Victoria's Secret is known for extending its brand to consumers by using cutting-edge technology in innovative and challenging ways," said Bob Simpson, VP of sales for Radware Inc. "Radware gladly accepts the IT challenge of keeping the Victoria's Secret Cannes 2000 Fashion Show Webcast online, optimizing the experience of Webcast viewers around the world."

With this year's Webcast, Victoria's Secret continues to offer an unparalleled customer experience on the Internet. Victoria's Secret technicians have spent almost a year planning the May 18th Webcast, and part of this process was the arduous task of choosing the right ITM solution. After analyzing the overwhelming number of hits to last year's Webcast, Victoria's Secret technology team realized the ideal way to manage the high volume of hits to this year's show was to incorporate Radware load balancing technology into the network.

"The Radware solution provided the best fit for our specific global load balancing operational and architectural requirements," says Timothy Plzak, director of advanced technology at Intimate Brands, Inc., parent company of Victoria's Secret. "Radware really stepped up to the challenge in order to help us build a technology solution for this year's event that extends the Victoria's Secret brand to a large, worldwide audience while maintaining a quality user experience."

While some of the most glamorous models in the world are showing off Victoria's Secret fashions on the runway, Radware's Web Server Director for Distributed Sites (WSD-DS) will be showing off its feature richness and high availability capability in the network. As many as 10 WSD-DS's will be installed strategically in multiple locations throughout the Victoria's Secret network to negotiate a barrage of requests from around the world.

Radware's position in the network is integral to the success of the Webcast. The Radware WSD-DS's will absorb each hit as it comes in and direct traffic to the appropriate server, ensuring the site remains online and requests are met with transparent efficiency. Because the WSD-DS's will be located in multiple physical sites, the Victoria's Secret network will achieve full redundancy and fault tolerance. If servers at any site fail, or if total site failure occurs, the Radware load balancers will automatically and immediately route users around failed units to satisfy requests.
