Technology enables companies to enhance quality of experience, improve response time and deliver 24/7 transaction completion

Radware® (NASDAQ: RDWR), a leading provider of application delivery and application security solutions for virtual and cloud data centers, announced today that it has been awarded a patent that enables companies operating networks connected to the Internet through multiple Internet service providers (ISPs) or with a plurality of routes, redirect access to the most efficient and fastest route. The technology, developed for Radware’s LinkProof® service, allows users to efficiently select the lowest-cost link with the highest availability and lowest latency optimized for both in-bound and outbound network requests.

Radware has been awarded the patent through the U.S. Patent Office which has granted Patent No. 8,266,319 and is entitled “Load Balancing.”

“To maintain business continuity and 24/7 uptime, datacenters need to provide high availability to their wide area network and ensure response time of applications is delivered optimally,” says Avi Chesla, chief technology officer, Radware. “This patented technology enables Radware to effectively deliver a comprehensive end-to-end solution, focused on enhancing quality of experience through the optimization of the route between clients and servers over WAN internet links and links between computing and application resources in cloud environments.”

Radware’s LinkProof maximizes WAN effectiveness by bypassing bottlenecks and service-provider outages, managing bandwidth consumption and allowing customers to decide which links are used for which applications and when. It is the only on demand solution that lets users effortlessly add, manage and load balance multiple ISP connections with the ability to mix and match virtual private networks or private and public links for back-up or in response to growing bandwidth needs.

With the patented technology, LinkProof guarantees 24/7 full-path transaction completion through its advanced application-aware, full-path health monitoring module. It automatically measures the real-time status of the two-way routes between the network and the remote user or servers on the Internet based on multiple parameters including latency, packet loss, cost of and load time of the link.

To enhancing user experience and improving response time, LinkProof utilizes a proximity-based routing system that ensures the best path selection, dynamic application-based link load balancing of both incoming and outgoing traffic and application bandwidth management.

In addition, LinkProof specifies several methods, including smart DNS actions, address resolution that will redirect the user through the best route, and other source and destination address translation methods. These patented features make it easy to select the best ISP route for redirecting two-way traffic.
