Radware (Nasdaq: RDWR), a leading provider of Internet Traffic Management (ITM) solutions enabling continuous access to Web sites, IP applications and content is proud to announce its latest in a long list of industry awards. InternetWeek on January 24, 2000 named Radware's Web Server Director (WSD) Pro+ its scorecard winner and "Best of Breed" in its most recent load balancing switch test.
These test results are consistent with a pattern of wins for Radware. In 1996, Radware became the second vendor behind Cisco to enter the load balancing market quickly establishing itself as a technology leader by winning the first industry load balancing test published in PC Magazine in February of 1997. Since then, Radware has maintained its lead in the ITM arena winning numerous head to head tests. These awards include the prestigious "Editor's Choice" award in PC Magazine, "Editor's Choice, Flying Colors, Well-Connected and Best Value" awards in Network Computing, "Net Best" in Internet Computing, "Product of the Year" in Network Magazine and back to back "Best of Show" awards at Internet World.

Application Aware Switches like the WSD provide fault tolerance, scalability and optimization of traffic to local and global IP sites which need to achieve 7x24 availability. User traffic is pointed at the WSD, which front ends a group of identical content servers. The WSD monitors the servers for health, load and availability and then forwards traffic to the device best able to service the user request.
In addition, the WSD allows network administrators to schedule device down time in advance, making outages transparent to their users. "The Radware product has a couple of interesting features for gracefully shutting down and restoring servers in a cluster," said Logan Harbaugh, technology editor at InternetWeek. The WSD-Pro+ allows servers to be administratively activated and deactivated and automatically detects when a server is taken off line or re-introduced into the farm.
The WSD-Pro+ fared better than the competition in the administration and setup categories as well. InternetWeek found that the WSD-Pro+ was the easiest to set up and configure. Technical support for the product was knowledgeable and efficient.
In recognition of the need for speed as well as high availability, InternetWeek chose to test switches and routers separately. Because performance and switching are somewhat synonymous, Radware's win, in this category, demonstrates the high performance capabilities of the WSD-Pro+ product.
