Powered by Radware’s OnDemand Switch, new network security platforms deliver top level performance and enhanced scalability with lower total cost of ownership

Radware (NASDAQ: RDWR), the leading provider of integrated application delivery solutions for business-smart networking, today announced the release of its new line of DefensePro products, based on Radware's OnDemand Switch platform series, designed to meet next generation data centers needs. This powerful combination provides customers with advanced performance delivering network inspection speeds of over 12 Gbps, easy upgrade path as network bandwidth grows, reducing security investment and operations management costs – all while protecting datacenters against emerging attacks.

Cybercrime has increasingly shifted toward attacks on the data center from the original target of individual end-users. This movement has generated greater demand for enhanced network and next-generation data center protection – protecting services applications against known vulnerability-based attacks as well as emerging network threats that do not exploit known vulnerabilities and thus, cannot be protected using signature technology.

By leveraging Radware’s new DefensePro products, customers gain a real-time intrusion prevention system (IPS) and Denial of Service (DoS) protection device – to protect data center assets against existing and emerging threats, including authentication defeat, information theft and both low and high volume DoS attacks. On these new platforms, DefensePro continues to deliver its unique behavioral-based technology that automatically, generates real-time signatures. This technology prevents zero-minute and non-vulnerability-based threats, which have the potential to misappropriate service without a vulnerability. The new DefensePro product line achieves this without blocking legitimate user traffic and without the need for human intervention.

“Cyber criminals have added targeted malware to their arsenals creating a real threat to next generation data centers. As a result, companies are looking for solutions that can effectively protect their business against emerging network threats without increasing cost or network complexity,” affirmed Charles Kolodgy, research directory for Security Products at IDC. “Radware’s on demand approach enables these companies to cost-effectively safeguard front- and back-end application servers without the risk of revenue and productivity loss.”

The new DefensePro network security solutions offer key elements of protection for next generation data centers inclusive of:

  • APSolute Immunity – Provides protection of the network infrastructure and service applications against both known and unknown emerging network attacks that misuse network and application resources;
  • Advanced Performance –Delivers just over 12 Gbps of full network traffic inspection and protection against server- and network-based attacks - all without compromising legitimate traffic processing when the network is under attack;
  • ‘On Demand’ IPS Scalability – Minimizes capital and operational expenditure with the unique "pay as you grow" model of seamless scalability to higher throughput models, with no downtime or ‘rip and replace’ upgrades;
  • Lower TCO – Dramatically reduced operational costs with 'hands-off' fully-automated real-time signatures. License-based performance upgrades also provide for lower initial investments and major savings in upgrade capacity projects.

“Our solutions seek to protect businesses from exposure to key risks – that can ultimately bring down or significantly slow down customer networks – causing business interruption, financial loss and customer churn, said Avi Chesla, Vice President Security, Radware. “Additionally, DefensePro offers an extra level of protection provided by Radware’s APSolute Immunity initiative, ensuring our customers’ next generation data centers can fight against known and unknown vulnerabilities. While these threats seek to compromise the health of the application infrastructure, they can be stopped.”

Radware’s DefensePro security network solutions are part of the Company’s Business-Smart Data Center strategy, which is based on an approach to offer a range of innovative capabilities inclusive of pay-as-you-grow procurement models and a series of compelling ‘on demand’ platforms.
