Radware competitively selected for its cost, effectiveness and ease of use

Radware® Ltd. (NASDAQ: RDWR), a leading provider of application delivery and application security solutions for virtual and cloud data centers, announced the Colombia National Police has selected Radware to help protect its network against cyber-attacks it endured on a daily basis that include DDoS, cross site scripting and SQL injection.

After experiencing a number of attacks on a continuous basis, the Colombia National Police sought out a vendor that could provide a comprehensive approach to help mitigate the daily cyber threats to its network. Through an extensive search and review of potential solutions provided by two competitors, the national law enforcement organization ultimately selected Radware’s DefensePro®.

As a real-time, behavioral based attack mitigation device, DefensePro provides protection against DDoS attacks, Internet pipe saturation, attacks on login pages, SSL-based flood attacks as well as known and emerging network security threats.

“We reviewed what we felt were the best known solutions in the marketplace. Based on Radware’s effectiveness in DDoS mitigation, we felt the multi-vector cyber-attacks we constantly faced would be no match,” says Major Alex Durán, head of Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT), Colombia National Police. “Along with the ease of installation and the benefit-cost ratio of their products, we immediately recognized the value and efficiency of Radware’s security solutions.”

After deploying DefensePro, the Colombia National Police effectively mitigated attacks to their network and through APSolute Vision – DefensePro’s real-time, centralized attack management, monitoring and reporting tool – was able to gain visibility to the entire network from one central, unified console, minimizing time and personnel to execute this task.

“As these attacks became less of an issue for us, we have been able to increase availability to our online services and 50 applications that are accessed by our citizens, thus raising the level of satisfaction among our constituents and creating yet an additional benefit for us,” added Durán.
