Trinoo is a botted network which has been attributed to numerous DDoS-type attacks. Although it's been around for a while and illustrated via a CERT advisory 99-04, the nature of the compromised network appears to have changed over the years. The Trinoo attacks are an example of latent compromised networks available for quick leverage when amplification networks are desired.
