Networking specialist Radware (RDW) said Tuesday the new version of its Alteon OS 27 software running on OnDemand platforms will now provider faster system processing, speeding web browsing and reducing the need for new equipment ahead of its competitors.
The new application acceleration capabilities offered on Alteon OS 27 series four and five are expected to decrease sever hardware costs and provide “better quality of experience” to end users, the Mahwah, New Jersey-based company said in a statement.
The system speeds web browsing and response times via SSL offloading, web compression, caching, HTTP multiplexing and TCP optimization to better address server performance, response time and security roadblocks. With the implementation of these capabilities, server CPUs will be freed and therefore able to handle additional requests, enabling customers to avoid purchasing additional hardware to support added application processing. When compared to its rivals, including Microsoft SharePoint, Oracle Siebel and PeopleSoft, response time can be sped up by as much as 350%, with CPU load of servers reduced by 40%, Radware said.
