Radware, a provider of integrated application delivery solutions for business-smart networking, has expanded their Alteon application switch product line with the new Alteon 4408 and Alteon 4416 OnDemand switches.
Along with the recently unveiled Alteon 5412 which now offers complete application delivery throughput coverage up to 20 Gbps, the new Alteon 4-series switches round up the company’s product suite.
Packed with four 10GE ports and twelve Gigabit Ethernet ports, the Alteon 5412 delivers up to an incredible 20 Gbps throughput, 340K Layer 4 TPS and 2.5M DNS QPS. The Alteon 4408 and 4416 deliver breakthrough performance in the range of 0-4Gbps, including 215K Layer 4 and 135K Layer 7 transactions per second and the fastest response time.
A market analysis from IDC (News - Alert) has indicated that layer 4-7 switches that can provide good visibility into application use on the network and enable a pay-as-you-grow IT philosophy will be integral in creating the next-generation datacenter. The need for newer datacenter network architecture that can fluidly adapt to real-time business demands fuels this demand.
The Alteon switches are based on the company’s demand infrastructure approach and they can be used to begin certain bandwidth and application services to meet current operational needs and then increase capacity and capabilities on a “pay-as-you-grow” model – without replacing or rebooting supporting hardware – while maintaining high performance levels in layers 4-7.
