Audiovox is One of More Than 1,100 LinkProof Customers Who Benefit from High Network Availability, Performance, and Optimization

MAHWAH, NJ June 10, 2003 02:00 PM

Radware (NASDAQ; RDWR), the leader in Intelligent Application Switching (IAS), ensuring end-to-end availability, performance and security of networked applications announces rapid global adoption of its LinkProof solution. Audiovox, an international leader in the marketing of cellular telephones, mobile security and entertainment systems, and consumer electronics products, has implemented Radware's LinkProof to ensure the continuous operation of multiple ISP links.

Since its introduction, LinkProof has been deployed by more than 1,100 customers worldwide. Customers include organizations of every size across many industries, including American Tower, a leading provider of infrastructure for Internet, wireless, and broadcasting industries, and BMC Software, a leading provider of enterprise management software solutions.

"Radware introduced LinkProof in 1999, enabling organizations for the first time to eliminate from their networks access, application, and security related vulnerabilities that result in downtime," said Vik Desai, COO, Radware. "Audiovox is one of a long line of satisfied LinkProof customers, who continues to benefit from our 4 years of technology and market leadership."

Audiovox, the $1.1 billion pioneer and market leader in the wireless communications and consumer electronics industries, relies on their network to generate revenue as well as to service employee productivity needs. Audiovox hosts their own website, which serves both informational and e-commerce roles. In addition to researching products, customers can purchase select Audiovox wireless and consumer electronics products directly from the website. Furthermore, the Audiovox network provides internal and external sales people with productivity services including email and other mission critical applications.

"Since deployment, LinkProof has protected our network from ISP downtime, allowing us to continue doing business," said Ken Myung, IT Manager at Audiovox. "If we have an outage with one of our ISP's, the experience is transparent to our network users. Also, we use the LinkProof reporting capabilities to monitor traffic ebbs and flows to spot any unusual spikes that could indicate virus attacks or other anomalies."

Since potential costs associated with downtime include both lost revenues and lost productivity, Audiovox needed to mitigate exposure to ISP related downtime by implementing multiple links from multiple vendors. However, deploying the three T1 lines required for the solution would have necessitated the implementation of complicated routing protocols, as well as coordination with each of the ISPs. Though the solution would have provided a measure of resiliency, there would have been no optimization or load balancing of traffic flows. Audiovox implemented Radware's LinkProof to avoid complicated and costly implementation and management while optimizing network resources. Also, LinkProof reduces the total cost of the multi-homing solution, enabling Audiovox to purchase bandwidth in less expensive configurations, and scale capacity precisely and cost effectively
