BMC Software Inc. (NYSE:BMC), the leading provider of enterprise management, and Radware (Nasdaq:RDWR), a leading provider of Intelligent Traffic Management (ITM) solutions, today announced a partnership that will improve the performance and availability of business-critical applications, enabling customers to streamline their network operations and ultimately reduce costs. Radware selected BMC Software's PATROL® as the management development platform because of its superior application health monitoring and the flexibility of the MarketZone partner program.
The Radware PATROL Knowledge Module will make traffic redirection decisions based on information transmitted through other BMC Software KMs and automatically react to network problems. The KM will act as a broker, reading and collecting information from other KMs in the network and sending that data to the Radware Web switch. Based on the information received, the Web switch will redirect traffic to the Web or application servers that provide the best response time, guaranteeing that no traffic is sent to servers where a problem has been detected by a KM. Together, the Radware and BMC Software solution will provide high availability, optimize network resources and reduce costs associated with network administration.
The Radware KM for PATROL health monitoring features include:
- Application Health monitoring
- Full-path Health monitoring
- Traffic redirection
- Bandwidth management
- Application security
"Radware's flexible feature set, coupled with its Gigabit performance and Application Switch platform, is the perfect complement to BMC's PATROL technology," said Arik Ziv, VP of business development at Radware Inc. "The sum of the two products is greater than its parts. Joint customers will enjoy fast and automatic reactions to problems they would otherwise only see on the screen."
Radware worked with BMC's Professional Services to develop the Radware PATROL KM. It is initially available from BMC Professional Services.
"BMC recognizes Radware as a leading player in the ITM space and we're excited to pair PATROL technology with Radware's solution," said Johnny Ola, Director of Corporate Development, BMC Software. "BMC and Radware customers will be the ultimate beneficiaries of this new Radware KM because of its ability to optimize business-critical infrastructures."
