The disy platform combines traditional telephony with voice over IP (VoIP), and provides a basis for 24/7 hosting of value-added services such as telephone conferences, call centers and customized applications. Radware enables disy to focus its efforts on the further development of its own application and not worry about such factors as failover or redundancy, which are managed by AppDirector and which in turn delivers the highly available operation of the platform.
Radware’s AppDirector features granular application intelligence for end-to-end application-smart-networking, and works with superior standards for layers 4-7. As such, it is ideally suited for the bandwidth-critical applications developed by disy. The appliance balances actions in the server infrastructure with application front end requirements. With this solution, overloads in the data traffic at peak times, server bottlenecks, connection problems and downtimes are issues of the past. At the same time, the product guarantees permanent access to all applications, assures their continuity and ensures redundancies. This is achieved by means combining high-performance hardware for multi-gigabit and application switching, plus the application-smart networking technology from APSolute OS. Particularly when working with large server islands, AppDirector comes into its own, where it ensures local and global server availability and accelerates their performance. At the same time, the solution guards against any security attacks.
The decision to integrate AppDirector into the disy network was prompted above all, by the high level of consulting expertise on the part of Radware. “A test version was implemented within a very short space of time and adapted to our needs. Furthermore, included in the decision criteria was the fact that the solution supports the SIP standard and provides an efficient and flexible management system.
