Quest Software and Radware form Strategic Alliance, integrating Performance Management with Application Switching

MAHWAH, NJ AND IRVINE, CA April 9, 2002 02:00 PM

Radware (NASDAQ; RDWR), the leader in intelligent Application Switching, ensuring end-to-end control, performance and integrity of networked applications, and Quest Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: QSFT), a leading provider of application management solutions, today announced they have entered into a strategic alliance. With this alliance, Quest has integrated its performance and availability products, Foglight® and SharePlex® for Oracle with Radware's Local and global IP Application Switching device, Web Server Director (WSD), to deliver proactive traffic and application management and help ensure business continuity and immediate return on investment.

Quest Software's SharePlex is designed to maintain continuous data availability in the case of an outage by providing high speed Oracle database replication. SharePlex will be used to provide Radware's Web Server Director (WSD) with the ability to switch application users over to a replica database, maintaining business continuity throughout WSD's application switching and load balancing processes.

Quest's Foglight is an enterprise application monitor that tracks information within the entire technology stack - including Web servers, databases, application servers, operating system, end-user, network and disk space - to maintain optimal performance and availability within the application infrastructure. Integration between Foglight and Radware's Web Server Director enables administrators to detect impending and actual application performance issues so they can be resolved before users are impacted.

"Combining software and hardware solutions for application switching is a logical step in ensuring network integrity," said Zeus Kerravala, VP, Yankee Group. "Companies who recognize the strength in deploying disaster recovery solutions are at an advantage to protect their businesses against any disaster situation."

"Radware's Intelligent Application Switching platforms are designed to provide high availability and responsiveness in our client's networks," said Arik Ziv, VP Business Development, Radware. "With Internet traffic continuing to grow on corporate and enterprise web sites, Quest Software and Radware's product integration of the Web Server Director with Quest's SharePlex and Foglight is the intelligent solution for optimizing the availability of corporate infrastructures."

"Quest Software continually strives to provide solutions that not only give customers confidence in the performance and availability of their critical systems, but also deliver a quick return on investment," said Mike Coffman, director of alliances for Quest Software. "This alliance combines best of breed solutions - including load balancing, issue detection and fail over capabilities - and we believe the entire user experience will be enhanced by this unparalleled solution."
