Mahwah, NJ October 10, 2001 02:00 PM

Radware (Nasdaq; RDWR), the global leader of Intelligent Traffic Management (ITM) solutions that bring certainty to dynamic networks, today announced the release of FireProof version 2.2. The FireProof version upgrade provides users with enhanced functionality and cost effective features that protect end-users’ security infrastructures.

“Radware’s FireProof gives us the peace of mind knowing that our firewalls and VPNs are always available and optimized,” said Robert Seer, Manager of Architectural Services at American Tower Corporation (NYSE: AMT). “The flexible and feature rich FireProof version creates an added value for our internal customers’ security infrastructure, and allows us to design better security solutions for them.”

SynApps Architecture

Radware’s SynApps Architecture combines application health monitoring, traffic redirection, bandwidth management, and application security in a powerful, ASIC-based switch platform. Combined, these four elements guarantee reliable and consistent network service by managing traffic according to application needs. The Traffic Redirection module is responsible for the actual load balancing of user sessions among security devices. The Health Monitoring module is responsible for ensuring that the security resources are available, healthy, and capable of handling user traffic. SynApps’s Bandwidth Management allows administrators to have full control over their available bandwidth. Using this module, users can limit inbound, outbound and total bandwidth per firewall. This prevents firewalls from overloading. The Application Security module enables Radware’s products to protect sensitive network resources from various security risks. This module provides advanced security measures for the network’s resources. This includes detection and prevention from over 450 malicious virus attack signatures.

Differentiated Services (DiffServ) Support

FireProof’s bandwidth module allows for the prioritization by DiffServ information, enabling the classification of differentiated services. By setting DiffServ octets, packets are classified and marked according to parameters such as cookies, URLs, applications and IP addresses. This ensures that the packets will be then be prioritized by other network devices accordingly.

NAT Enhancements

In FireProof version 2.2, ranges of Static and Dynamic NAT can be configured. This enables easy configuration with multiple hosts that require Static NAT. Up to 100 hosts can be configured in a compact fashion with Static NAT and up to 30 different ranges can be configured in Dynamic NAT. This grants easier administration of the NAT table.

SYN Attack Protection

FireProof version 2.2 is capable of protecting its Client Table from harmful SYN Attacks. This feature prevents firewall unit failure caused by SYN Attacks.
