Radware Announces Robust New Features for its Cache Server Director Product Line

Mahwah, NJ May 29, 2001 02:00 PM

Radware (Nasdaq; RDWR), a leading provider of Intelligent Traffic Management (ITM) solutions that bring certainty to dynamic networks, today announced the release of version 3.0 of the company's Cache Server Director (CSD) product. The CSD's version upgrade offers special protocol support features, more flexible management and an additional layer of fault tolerance and high availability for cache management.

"The release of version 3.0 takes cache management to a new level, providing our customers with highly available, fast and flexible service." Said Sharon Trachtman, VP Marketing at Radware. "Since its introduction, our CSD has set the standard for optimizing usage of cache resources and version 3.0 continues doing such with effective, efficient cache management tools."

Version 3.0 Enhancements

HTTP Header Field Redirection
Layer 7 content traffic redirection is now supported, whereby selection decisions are based on layer 7 HTTP header fields. This offers effective and efficient content delivery by identifying content at a high level. With this feature, CSD can redirect users to a particular server determined by a language or browser specified in the header field. As a result, the CSD achieves a high level of content granularity.

Streaming Support

CSD version 3.0 is the first cache management product to fully support streaming media. Radware's CSD can support and complement any cache vendor offering streaming video or audio (RTSP/MMS), ensuring a wide range of protocol support and full optimization of cache resources.

Web Based Management (WBM

This new management tool enables users to configure the CSD via a standard web browser - remotely or locally. This provides a stronger, more versatile and flexible management with easy access to the CSD. Installation is easy, fast and similar to existing tools, thereby making the change to WBM simple.

Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP) Support
VRRP support is an additional feature to the standard CSD redundancy method, ensuring users continuous service through a VRRP supporting router. Using VRRP support, the CSD can be configured to work with a VRRP router as its main backup. This cost effective protocol raises the level of availability and fault tolerance through dynamic router redundancy.
