Radware Appoints Dominic Byrne as Regional Director for Northern Europe

Aldermaston, UK December 10, 2002 02:00 PM

Application switching company Radware today announced the appointment of Dominic Byrne as Regional Director, Northern Europe. Radware, which provides intelligent Application Switching (IAS), ensuring control, performance and the integrity of networked applications across the enterprise, is also making a substantial investment in its UK organisation.

Byrne is one of the UK's most experienced senior managers of networking organisations, having previously held senior management positions at Foundry Networks, Nexsi Systems, GE Capital ITS and Olicom. His role will be to drive revenues through a highly specialist and proven two-tier regional sales channel.

"Radware's intelligent technology operates at layers four-to-seven of the OSI network hierarchy model, a market that is becoming increasingly competitive as customers try to get better value from their existing investments in corporate networks," said Byrne.

"There are four players in this market and the front runners are Radware and F5 Networks. Cisco Systems and Nortel Networks also have product offerings. Radware is about 18 months ahead of F5's product development curve. We believe our technology, customer support and commercial proposition puts us in a superior position to capture greater market share, particularly in the UK," he added.

Byrne was selected by Radware for the role because of his previous experience in building successful and sustainable businesses for US-based start-up networking companies wishing to establish themselves in the European market.

The specific investment by Radware in the UK market will include hiring more salespeople and channel relationship managers, increasing the level of technical expertise and adding further momentum to the company's channel partner relationships. Byrne's challenges at Radware include restructuring sales and marketing, developing a channel programme, improving marketing and growing sales revenues.
