Radware Security Service Responds to Bagle-AB

MAHWAH, NJ July 16, 2004 02:00 PM

Radware (NASDAQ; RDWR) the leading provider of Intelligent Application Switching (IAS) solutions ensuring the end-to-end availability, performance and security of networked applications across the enterprise, announced the immediate availability of protection against the Bagle A-B worm. Bagle-AB is a mass-mailing email worm that propagates using its own SMTP engine. The worm arrives as an attachment that may be a password protected zip file or an executable file. Once the system is infected, the worm opens a backdoor and then modifies the system registry to run on system startup. It then begins sending itself to email addresses scanned from system files.

"Immediate protection against Bagle-AB reflects once again Radware's ability to quickly respond to malicious attack signatures, viruses and worms," said Amir Peles, CTO, Radware. "Bagle-AB is a fast spreading worm and we are pleased to offer our customers the immediate and ongoing security filter updates they need in order to protect their networks against the latest application security threats."
