Radware Security Update Service Delivers Immediate and Ongoing Security Filter Updates

MAHWAH, NJ February 24, 2004 02:00 PM

Radware (NASDAQ; RDWR) the leading provider of Intelligent Application Switching (IAS) solutions ensuring the availability, performance and security of networked applications across the enterprise, announced that its Security Update Service (SUS) continues to deliver immediate and ongoing security filter updates to protect against the latest application security threats.

Radware Security Update Service recently released emergency signature files that supported protection against Mydoom worms A and B and was the first vendor in the market to release an emergency signature with immediate protection against Mydoom C.

"With the recent wave of computer viruses, there is urgent need for security infrastructures that protect enterprises against devastating attacks. The financial cost and productivity loss in the outbreak of an attack are catastrophic," said Matthew Kovar, CFA, Vice President, Security Solutions & Services consulting at The Yankee Group. "It is imperative that companies examine their security infrastructures to prepare themselves in the event of an attack. The challenge is to find security solutions, like Radware's, that provide real time updates that can prevent the entry of computer worms or hackers seeking to destroy enterprise networks."

The Security Update Service, available on the entire Radware suite of products, consists of the following key service elements: 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC) scanning for continuous threat monitoring, detection, risk assessment and filter creation for threat mitigation; emergency filters for high impact security events; weekly updates comprised of scheduled periodic updates to signature files; and custom filters for environment specific threats and newly reported attacks sent to the SOC.

"Introducing Radware's Security Update Service is another milestone in our long history of success and traction in the security market. SUS complements our Application Switching solutions with emergency and weekly filters that safeguard our customers' applications," said Amir Peles, Chief Technology Officer, Radware. "By continuously monitoring all network traffic at Gigabit speeds, Radware's Security Update Service ensures up-to-date protection against current and emergent application vulnerabilities to protect enterprise operations from malicious traffic."

Radware Security Update Service was introduced to the market in December 2003, in parallel with Radware DefensePro - the industry's first 3Gbps Application Security Switch
