Radware, VimpelCom Team Unveils New Solution for Protection Against DDoS Attacks

April 1, 2014 02:00 PM

In computing, a denial-of-service (DoS) or distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack is an attempt to make a machine or network resource unavailable to its intended users. Such attacks affect businesses and can cause major downtime in most of the cases.

In an attempt to protect users from such attacks, Radware, a provider of application delivery and application security solutions for virtual and cloud data centers, and OJSC VimpelCom (Beeline TM), part of the VimpelCom Group, have teamed up to offer a new service for business customers called "Protection from DDoS attacks." The service incorporates Radware's Attack Mitigation System (AMS), a real-time network and application security solution.

Both companies are collobarating on bringing DDoS attacks solutions that are built as per customers' requirements.

"We understand the problems our Enterprise customers face today. As one of the largest Internet service providers and business entities in Russia, we often witness an escalating number of network attacks," says Sergey Petrov, vice-president, head of B2B business unit VimpelCom, Russia. "This new solution allows our customers to successfully protect their assets against DDoS attacks and to decrease the cyber threats in real time. When the customer seeks a solution from a single service provider, that end user will also receive full access to the benefits of the Beeline Business services."

The new Beeline Business and Radware's new joint service offers a variety of features including shorest time to protection, long range of attack coverage, including mitigation of SSL based attacks and users can also benefited from the volumetric network attacks mitigated by Beeline Scrubbing Center.

"Radware Enterprise customers have documented successful protection from DDoS attacks and as a result, we have received numerous requests for operator services based on our solutions," says Michael Soukonnik, Radware CIS and Baltic regional director. "We are very pleased to offer this joint solution and equally impressed that Beeline Business was able to successfully develop and implement a new service in a short period of time."

Users can also make use of 24x7 support offered by Beeline's SOC and Radware Emergency Response Team.
