    Connection Persistence

Connection persistence refers to the ability of a device, like a load balancer, to maintain virtual connection between a client and a specific server. Persistence helps ensure that a client with a connection to a specific server remains connected to that server for their session.

Persistence improves performance and is critical for SSL processes. A persistent connection during an SSL sessions means that the SSL does not have to be renegotiated during the session. This improves performance and efficiency of the network.
