Fault Tolerance

Fault tolerance refers to the ability of a system to respond to unexpected failures. These failures can be both hardware and software related. An effective fault tolerance solution for a network will allow operations to continue uninterrupted in the event of malware attack, power outage, or other failure.

Common failure points in a network include the power supply, power surges, unauthorized access by outsiders, and device or computer failures.
