Application Firewall

An application firewall is a type of firewall that controls the access, input, and output from, to or by an application. If any of these actions do not comply with the configured policy of the application firewall, the action is blocked. These firewalls are used to control network traffic and help prevent distributed denial of service attacks and other malicious behavior.
